About Semiconductor Gold Lighting

Semiconductor gold light bulbs are fluorescent light bulbs coated with a specialty material that improves both the performance and the safety of the bulbs. The yellow-gold coating is designed to block UV emissions below 250 nanometers and can lower lumen output by nearly one-quarter. Semiconductor gold light bulbs are generally available in the same standard sizes as regular fluorescent bulbs, and require no special wiring or fixtures for operation. The PET coating (polyethylene terephthalate, a form of polyester) also adds strength to the bulbs, and is made to retain as many fragments as possible, should the bulbs’ glass break. The specialized coating on semiconductor gold light bulbs is designed to resist cracking, peeling, and flaking, regardless of age or hours of usage. The coatings also maintain zero outgassing. Semiconductor gold lighting is no relegated to use only in semiconductor applications. It can also be used in schools, hospitals, factories, office buildings, and other settings to deliver safe, efficient lighting.
